Anny Ferrario was born in Como and graduated in foreign languages from the University of Nancy and the Cambridge Institute in England. She began experimenting on her own in painting in 1967. Meanwhile she taught French and English in a private school in Laveno until 1985.
After years dedicated to oil painting she attended courses in incision and ceramics, specializing in incision, in particular the Goetz technique.
In 1986 Anny began creating sculptures in terracotta and iron, jewelry and sculptures using the lost wax technique in silver, bronze and brass. These difficult techniques showed her dexterity with humble as well as precious materials as well as her poetic vision of the object.
She taught chalcography techniques and then in 1992 she opened her own studio, The Atelier Capricorno, where she organized many group exhibitions and continued to teach courses in chalcography and ceramics.
n 2002 the Atelier Capricorno became a cultural association while continuing with didactic activities. With the collaboration of the numerous associate artists, group shows, one-man/woman shows, exhibitions featuring well-known artists were organized
The work of Anny Ferrario can be found in public and private collections in Italy and abroad. She has had one-woman exhibitions in the United States, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, China and Lithuania.
